The Testing Laboratory is equiped with the latest facllites to carry out Mechanical, Chemical and Thermal testing of Hot and cold thermal insulations as also of the required raw materials to manufacture these products. It is noteworthy to mention that PIBCO LIMITED R&D Centre has been accreditated under Thermal, Chemical and
Mechanical disciplines as Testing Laboratory by DST, Government of India since February, 1991 under NCTCF (presently NABL) programme Government of India as an InHouse R&D Laboratory

Testing of Other Insulations

The laboratory has the necessary facilities such as Guarded Hot Plate apparatus, ovens, humidity chambers, computerized compression testing machine, etc. required to test the properties and characteristics of other type of insulations. Besides at the request of a customer, the testing of insulations according to other standards as well as according to their specific requirement can also be carried out.

Testing of Other Insulations

(1) It is an absolute method for the measurement of the thermal conductivity of thermal insulation material.
(2) The most common measurement consists of symmetrically arranged guarded hot plate where the heater assembly is sandwiched between two specimens. The guard heaters provide a unidirectional transmission of heat and prevent the heat to flow in other directions.
